If you want to be a good leader you have to realize that it is all about the numbers. Producing the numbers is more important than anything else in business. Most of my clients will be astonished with this point of view. Let me be clear: A leader who cannot produce the numbers will not be successful taking a company into the future.
Just so we are clear, here are the 20 numbers every leader needs to pay attention to:
The number of times you encourage others.
The number of times you handle conflict instead of running from it.
The number of ways you flex your style to meet the needs of others.
The number of doors you open for others in your wake.
The number of times you did not look the other way.
The number of people willing to follow you.
 The number of relationships built.
The number of people you have impacted in your journey.
The number of people you have allowed to influence you along your journey.
The number of people you are willing to take a bullet for.
The number of people willing to take a bullet for you.
The number of tough decisions you were courageous enough to make.
The number of risks and sacrifices you were willing to take.
The number of people you forgave when they did you wrong.
The number of times you put your job on the line for those that follow you.
The number of potential talent you have exposed.
The number of times you stayed silent when you could have degraded.
The number of times you noticed things others did not.
The number of opportunities you put the company and team above yourself.
The number of people who will share the value and impact of your legacy when you are gone.
It’s a numbers game, people! Which numbers are you most proud to achieve? Which numbers are you most challenged with? Which numbers does your company need you to produce now?
